The young girl sat patiently across the older man, eyes studying him just in case he decided to pull another stunt all the while preparing herself for the worst. The girl has grown accustomed to spending time with patients and was far more familiar with spending her time with people who are older than her than with people her own age, especially ever since she was more needed in the hospital. “I know,” she reassured him. “We just need to stay here for awhile.”
He was not wild— far from. He was just done at the moment. Annie was still out there being tortured or worse and he was stuck here, waiting for answers. The least someone could do was keep him updated and show some respect— but even victors weren’t immune to the harshness of life and reality. Seeing the girl, he sighed, laying his head back in defeat.
